Good Overall Condition There are 7 very carefully sewn patches. We have washed & ironed this textile, it is ready to display as wall art or for use in your project. Wonderful display textile. Very representative of Japanese folk arts. |
| Comment | Fuji was the lead ship of the Fuji class of pre-dreadnought battleships built for the Imperial Japanese Navy by the British firm of Thames Iron Works in the late 1890s. The ship participated in the Russo-Japanese War of 1904–1905, including the Battle of Port Arthur on the second day of the war with her sister Yashima. Fuji fought in the Battles of the Yellow Sea and Tsushima and was lightly damaged in the latter action. This kasuri textile is from a kasuri collectors group of textiles that we were recently fortunate to acquire. Note the display hanging tube sewn into the top of this textiles. |
