Wonderful display textile. Very representative of Japanese folk arts.
Comment This textile was made in Kurume City, Japan, and shows a traditional Japanese style castle, probably patterned after the very well preserved Kumamoto castle, in Kumamoto City. Kumamoto Castle is considered one of the three premier castles in Japan.

Kumamoto is located about 50 miles, or 80 km, from Kurume.

This kasuri textile is from a kasuri collectors group of textiles that we were recently fortunate to acquire.
