Comments The Chinese concept of "yin yang" is called "in-yo" in Japanese. The the two complementary forces of "in yo" make up all aspects and phenomena of life. "In" is the symbol of earth, femaleness, darkness, passivity, and absorption. "Yo" is considered heaven, maleness, light, activity, and penetration. In harmony, the two are depicted as the light and dark halves of a circle.

In Japan, the crane is a mystical and holy creature which symbolize good fortune, prosperity, happiness and longevity. Cranes also represent marital love and fidelity because the birds pair for life, devout couples for all seasons. These affirmative visualizations flourished in the lives of all social classes.
