Otafuku is a dumpy, homely, cheery faced figure who is also a bringer of happiness. At some shrines, she is given out as an engimono (good luck charm). Otafuku also has a sexual connotation and is considered a fertility symbol. The images shows Otafuku as she appears as a ceremonial mask.
