The Japanese word for sparrow is suzume.
Late 1800s to Early 1900s
Fabric 100% cotton, hand loomed, homespun cotton, medium-heavy weight, thick. Part of an old futon cover.

Very Good Condition
No Holes, No Spots.
Slightly faded and some uneven dyeing, lovely nevertheless!

We have washed & ironed this textile. It is ready for use in your project.
Comment This textile is rare for 2 reasons:

1. The sparrow subject matter. (first time for our collection)
2. The textile's brown color. The dye is probably a extract of the Japanese yew shrub which has been used for centuries in Japan to make a brown color dye.
