This type of texiles is called 'Shifu' in Japanese. The fabric is a Mixture of Cotton and Paper Yarn/Threads.

Faux kasuri.

Noshi , Leaves, Flowers and Arabesque Designs.

Part of old futon cover.
Late 1800s to Early 1900s
Probably from Shikoku.
Fabric Hand loomed, homespun cotton and mulberry paper, medium-heavy weight, thick. Part of an old futon cover.

Coarse feel to surface of this textile.

No Holes, No Spots.

Comment On first glance this appears to be a kasuri woven textile but it is indeed katazome.
