Comment The chrysanthemum image has been dyed a second color with a stencil (katagami).

In Japan the chrysanthemum symbolizes the autumn season, a period when the flower is in full bloom.

At one time it was customary to plant a paulownia tree when a baby girl was born, and then to make it into a dresser as a wedding present when she married.
