The large tsutsugaki graphic is called "iwainoshi".

Here you see in the graphic long stirps of traditional Japanese gift paper bound together which symbolizes strength and permanence in marriage.

This textile should have several patches applied to it. We have include some new thick sashiko thread and some small pieces of same era fabric for use as patching as desired. See last photo.

We have washed and ironed this textile.
