Comments This textile was probably presented to a newlyweds as a wedding gift. It contains an abundance of traditional auspicious symbols which wish the couple a happy, long and prosperous life; a turtle, a money bag (lower right), makimono scroll (top left) and other images perhaps particularly significant to the family.
