These are the old style of monpe whereby the woman would be able tuck her kimono into the baggy hip area. Any excess kimono material is able to billow out on the sides, therefore the waist size fits all but the largest of women. Also, the ankle opening is very small 5 inches, 13 cm. Most adults cannot get their foot through the opening on these monpe.
